House System at Riviera International School
The school has implemented a House System, a model successfully used both in Kazakhstan and abroad, which fosters leadership skills, responsibility, and healthy competition. The House System creates a motivating environment that helps to unlock the individual potential of each student.
At our school, there are four Houses, each named after mythological figures associated with the four elements in the Kazakh language:
- Kökböri (Wolf)
- Aydahar (Dragon)
- Pyrak (Pegasus)
- Samuryk (Phoenix)
Each House has its own symbol and participates in all school events. Students from Kindergarten onwards are randomly assigned to the Houses, ensuring diversity. The Houses compete in sports, intellectual challenges, and creative competitions. Students propose ideas and projects, receive support, organize events, and discuss the outcomes.
A points system rewards activity and motivates students to strive for victories. Students earn points for their House by participating in various activities, including academic olympiads. The House with the most points at the end of the year wins a trophy, and their flag is raised higher than the others.
